Tried Superdrug’s new haircare range where everything is under £6 – Bethan Shufflebotham
Superdrug has launched its own handbag-friendly haircare range where everything costs under £6. And what’s more, it’s currently on sale for half price.
Following the success of the budget-friendly Me+ skincare line, which the health and beauty retailer launched in 2019, the new ingredient-based skincare targets a host of hair solutions.
The idea is that people really should take care of their hair as much as their skin, because your scalp is basically an extension of your face.

The range, which includes shampoos, conditioners and care oils, is completely vegan and cruelty-free, with bottles made from 100% recycled materials that are also 100% recyclable – including the pump.
I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with my hair, but that’s probably because I don’t know enough about my hair type to give it what it really needs.
Previously I had always found it to get greasy pretty quickly until my bangs were bleached out, which is when I found my hair struggling with dryness. But then I also found drying my hair was a total chore because it takes so long, but the Pro Tools hot brush helps.
I tried some of the Me+ hair care range and found that not only did my hair dry much faster, but it looked healthier, softer and less frizzy around my discolored areas .
I started with a double shampoo with the Me+ shampoo with argan oil, which sells for £4.99. The first wash helps remove dirt and product buildup, while the second wash actually nourishes the hair and leaves it looking and feeling clean.
the Me+ Argan Oil Shampoo is sulfate-free and formulated to gently cleanse, restore moisture and leave damaged hair feeling strong. It also has hyaluronic acid in its ingredient list, which is a moisturizing superhero active ingredient used in many moisturizing skincare products.
What’s great is that it is suitable for damaged, dry and chemically treated hair, which means it would work magic on all hair – bleached parts included.

I followed it with Me+ Argan Oil Conditioner, which – like shampoo – comes in a pump bottle. It has a very subtle scent and a creamy texture that feels really nice when you run it through your hair.
After rinsing my hair and toweling it lightly with a towel, I added a few drops of the Me+ Universal hair oil, which costs £5.99 which is great for adding shine to hair.
Made with argan, babassu coconut and flaxseed oils, it helps detangle and prep hair for styling, without leaving it greasy afterwards. The nourishing formula tames flyaways, improves split ends and leaves hair less dry.
Finally, there is the Me+ Hair Keratin Heat Defense Serum, based on vegetable keratin and bamboo leaf extract. It is an excellent heat protectant to use before blow-drying or straightening hair as it can provide protection up to 200 degrees Celsius of heat.
I was keen to use this product on my faded bangs to help protect it from any damage and found it absorbed quickly. When I styled my hair, it didn’t look washed out or frizzy, which suggests it did its job.
My hair felt really healthy after using the Me+ products, and although I wouldn’t normally pay £4.99 for a shampooI would definitely buy their shampoo and Conditioner again – especially if it stays bought, get one for half price.
