Looking good is good and having a good scent in the air with your presence is great. For some people, having a bad smell is a deciding factor and therefore devote time and dedication to making a good impression with their fragrance collections.
It’s easy to wear your perfume any way you want without keeping in mind that there are skills and ways to apply perfumes correctly, which will also help the perfume last for a long time.
When applying perfume correctly, there are places considered to be the right places that must be taken into consideration. These are parts of these areas that are naturally hot and humid. They include areas like the back of the knees, the inside of the elbows, and the side of the neck and chest.
Why are these areas considered key points? Because they allow the perfume to really last longer. So your body becomes a natural diffuser to blow in the fragrances as the natural heat slowly releases the fragrance ingredients.
Other places to note when spraying perfumes are the ankles, behind the ears, wrist, shoulder, and forearm.
Greta Fitz, a perfumer, says a technique called soft application will help fragrances last longer when worn “Try dabbing your perfume on pulse points.”
Resist the trick to caress the scent into your skin. This is because it removes odors. Carina Chaz, fellow perfumer and founder of DedCool, says, “Applying fragrance can be tricky. The scent needs to sit on the skin in order to blend with your natural oils. When the wrists are rubbed together, the top notes fade and evaporate.
Do you walk in a cloud of sprayed perfume to bathe in fragrance? Experts suggest making sure the perfume is safe for your health.
According to Chaz “You never want to inhale perfume because traditional perfume is a pollutant. If you want to get into a cloud of fragrance, be sure to use a biodegradable fragrance.
Explore different scents
Mixing scents is a craft “We can layer a complementary scent to freshen up the scent without overpowering it,” says Fitz. “Single-note fragrances are best for refreshing our olfactory palette to our favorite scent, like a powdery musk. Avoid layering one heavy scent with another heavy scent as it’s just too much and can cause headaches for you and those around you. If you like big scents but want to revisit them, layer them with single note woody or musky scents to wrap the scent in earthy undertones. I would stay away from anything heavily fruity as fruit can be overwhelming or volatile depending on what it is layered with.
Apply to clothes
Many people like to scent their clothes. Leigh Plessner, co-creative director of Catbird advises that “Be sure to agitate the fabric in the mist for even coverage” also noting that materials should be noted when doing this as some garments will stain, such as silk, which can easily be stained when using scented oils.
