Men’s skincare regimen for summer

It’s that time of year when you sweat all day! The sun is scorching and the heat almost kills you! In such a scenario, it is all the more important to take care of your skin. Men need to follow a skincare regimen just as much as women because their skin has enlarged pores which are more prone to breakouts and clogged pores. Sweat gets trapped in your pores and beard and makes your skin oily, itchy, and irritated, leading to acne, dry skin, and breakouts. So what can be done to maintain skin health and keep skin glowing? Just follow this routine and these tips blindly.

Clean the skin – All dirt and grime settles in the large pores of the skin, so it is important to clean the face twice a day to remove it. Use a good quality cleanser or facial cleanser intended for men’s skin.

Use a tonic– Use toner. This step is often overlooked, but it is important to follow it. This will help keep pores clean and restore balance to the skin. Toning is also beneficial if you have acne, ingrown hairs, or show signs of aging.

Exfoliate – Exfoliating every three days is important during summers. Once the older dead cells are removed, the younger skin cells will be able to surface.

Hydrate – After all the exfoliation and cleansing, it is important to moisturize the skin. It will also heal the skin. For summers, it is best to use a water-based moisturizer as it is light and non-greasy.

Use a serum – For mature skin, the use of serum is advised as it contains a high concentration of powerful ingredients that are beneficial for your skin.

Apply sunscreen – Sunscreens are essential during the summers.

Make sure to use at least SPF 30 for summers. Choose to apply it on exposed parts of your skin 30 minutes before exposing it to the sun and reapply every two hours. Also remember to apply it on your beard if you keep one. This will protect your beard from sun damage, soften the hairs and also make them shinier.

Use a face mask – Summer is also the time to take care of your skin, so give your face a special treatment by using a facial mask at least every 15 days. Choose a face mask that can remove excess oil and dead skin cells from the surface in addition to giving it a glow.

Use refreshing bath products – Given the humidity and the blazing sun outside, it is important to take a bath twice a day with bath products that wash away all the sweat. So whether you choose a soap, body wash, or shower gel, make sure it’s a cleansing, refreshing, and refreshing formula.

Use an under eye cream – Taking care of the under eye area is as important as taking care of your face. Use a soothing under-eye cream or gel with emollient properties to fight puffiness, puffiness, dark circles and aging.

Use a lip balm – Moisturizing your face is good, but applying a lip balm is even better. The heat of summer dehydrates the skin which is very visible on the lips. Repeated applications of lip balm throughout will keep it hydrated as well as soft.

Reduce shaving frequency – It is advised not to shave every day during summers as it repairs and heals after each shave while fighting against the sun’s UV rays.

Use an aftershave – An aftershave protects and hydrates the skin after shaving.

Always remember that a good skincare routine is all about finding the right product for you and sticking with what works best for you. Developing a skincare routine is an essential aspect of grooming, but so is healthy skin. In addition to regularly following a good skincare routine, double it by keeping your skin healthy from within. So drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and exercise regularly.
