Jay-Z Complains of ‘Lawyer Stuff’ and ‘Puns’ During Perfume Trial Testimony
During his ongoing lawsuit, brought by perfume company Parlux against the rapper who allegedly broke his promises to promote the release of the Jay-Z Gold perfume, Hov said Parlux’s attorney, Anthony Viola, “played lawyer tricks”, like Rolling stone reports that both very little agree during their round trips.
Monday also saw disagreement over Jay’s testimony in 2019, where the attorney accused the rapper of “altering your testimony,” as well as times when the judge had to step in to rephrase some of Viola’s sentences, Jay accusing him of playing “word games”.
Jay also argued that he had never authorized the company to sell Gold Jay Z in a Superdrug, a UK-based pharmacy and that he had “always had issues with the quality of the lazy work that came from of Parlux “.
“You are almost cutting off the legs of the mark [by] put it in discount stores, ”Jay-Z said, according to the New York Post.
“Absolutely not,” Hov said when asked his own legal team if he wanted the smell to be a failure. “I’m not going to cut my nose to upset my face.”
Parlux initially filed a breach of contract complaint in 2016, alleging that Jay-Z earned $ 2 million in royalties from the perfume when they lost nine times as much. The company went on to claim that Jay was supposed to be part of a series of events to promote him, but “never appeared once personally.” Jay-Z responded by cross-pursuing.
Last week in courtJay argued that he “did a lot for the launch of Gold Jay-Z” despite being busy promoting at the time.
In their last court appearance, Hov’s team also compared their tour to James lebron getting ready for the NBA Finals, which is part of why the businessman was barred from promoting the scent that shares his name.
