COMME des GARÇONS ‘new fragrance smells of grass
COMME des GARÇONS has had an impressive track record with its perfume business COMME des GARÇONS Parfums, including collaborations with Stüssy, KAWS and ERL to its name. Today, the brand launched its latest fragrance: Ganja.
As the name suggests, the scent actually smells like marijuana. Well no really, but it’s the kind of smell that tickles your nose and smells good at the same time.
Imagined by perfumer Caroline Dumur, the goal of the perfume was to “put two worlds in parallel: the urban world through the design of its bottle created by Rei Kawakubo and the extrasensory world through its woody, spicy and airy aroma”.
With top notes of black pepper oil and cumin seed oil, a medium of hemp accord, mate abs, mastic abs and a base of guaiac wood oil, of frankincense resinoid and patchouli oil, the scent packs a punch.
Described as combining woody and herbaceous scents, the fragrance “promises us an escape and sensory stimulation”. This is not a lie, it is certainly unlike anything on the market today.
The 30ml perfume bottle is clear glass, with “GANJA” written in a black graffiti-inspired font on the front, and fits nicely on your bathroom shelves.
If you’re looking to tickle your nose or find your new signature scent, GANJA is now available for online purchase and in store at Dover Street Market, as well as by COMME des GARÇONS Perfumes, and sells for £ 50 ($ 67).
