Between chemical treatments, heat styling, and even daily sun exposure, your hair’s health can take a serious hit. If you notice your hair is drier than usual or more tangled, a restorative treatment, like Coco & Eve’s latest launch, can help strengthen and protect your hair on a deeper level. Combining advanced science with responsibly sourced tropical ingredients, Coco & Eve’s Bond Building Pre-Shampoo Treatment joins the brand’s established line of hair, body and self-tanning products.

Want to know more about the latest innovation from Coco & Eve? Keep scrolling for all the details.

How it works

The reason Coco & Eve’s Bond Building Pre-Shampoo Treatment is so effective because it uses an advanced bonding polymer to promote stronger hair. Without taking you totally back to science class, there are three chemical bonds in our hair: disulphide, hydrogen and ionic. These bonds are what give your hair its strength and elasticity, but things like chemical treatments (including highlighting your hair) and hot tools can cause them to break down over time. That’s where the Bond Building pre-shampoo treatment comes in, with its bond-building polymer able to penetrate the hair and target all three structural bonds. Plus, the treatment includes nourishing oils like Coconut, Avocado, Pomegranate, and Apricot to help prevent future damage as they simultaneously work to restore moisture and seal in split ends to leave hair feeling immediately smoother and shinier. In a clinical study of 20 women with bleached hair, 85% saw a reduction in breakage and split ends after using the Bond Building treatment.

Who is it good for?

People with straight, curly, and wavy hair can all benefit from this pre-shampoo treatment if they show signs of damage from chemical processing, excessive use of hot styling tools, or environmental stressors. As its name suggests, the Bond Building Pre-Shampoo Treatment was designed to be used before you shampoo your hair. You will want to dampen your hair and then work two to three pumps of the treatment through your hair with your fingers or a comb. After letting the treatment sit for 10 minutes, rinse it out thoroughly and follow with your shampoo of choice.

Learn more about the brand

Inspiration struck Coco & Eve founder Emily Hamilton while vacationing in Bali, and she began developing a brand focused on incorporating the island’s tropical ingredients into science-based beauty products. . We hate to say it, but summer is finally over. We are still enjoying a few sunny days reminiscent of the last laid back months, but colder weather is just around the corner. As you release your warmer layers and favorite fall recipes, you might want to consider updating your hair care routine for fall.

Just as cold, dry weather forces us to change up our skincare routines, so does our hair. Read on for the best tips on managing your precious locks and keeping them hydrated through fall. There’s nothing a hydrating hair mask and some scalp TLC can’t fix…even if the days get shorter!

About the expert

Helen Reavey is a certified trichologist, celebrity hairstylist and scalp care brand founder Law+Acre.

What to know before updating your hair care routine

Updating your hair care routine doesn’t have to be difficult. We’re not asking you to do a complete overhaul of the products you keep in your shower or stop getting breakouts. Perhaps the best thing about hair is that it reacts positively to small changes in its environment. Your routine can benefit from the simple addition of a hair mask once a week or using a scalp exfoliator to remove product buildup and get better all-around benefits from your products.

“Curly hair tends to be drier and coarser in texture, so it’s important to know what products/ingredients to avoid in the fall. At the top of my list, sulfates like ALS and SLS should be avoided. They can strip the hair and scalp and dry out the hair further, making curls look frizzy and limp,” says Law+Acre Founder Helen Reavey.

The main thing to keep in mind is that we want to avoid dryness, frizz, split ends and unnecessary stress on our hair when the weather turns cold. This means making sure to never leave the house with wet hair (because the cold can dry it out too much), over-washing it, limiting tight styles and keeping heat styling to a minimum.

How to Update Your Haircare Routine for Fall

Detoxify your scalp

“I always reiterate the importance of taking care of your scalp like you do your face. So many problems and conditions (like alopecia, dandruff, etc.) stem from an imbalanced scalp biome, that can be restored with the right scalp care routine,” says Reavey.

You also come out of the summer months when SPF, messy buns, and dry shampoo were in abundance. Taking the extra time to ensure you have a smooth, clean and balanced canvas (your scalp of course) is extremely important. Otherwise, making good choices in other steps of your hair care routine is kind of pointless. Healthy hair starts with healthy scalp and hair follicles.

Reavey recommends using a gentle exfoliator to remove excess oil and product buildup once a week. You can also supplement with a scalp brush (try the one from Amazon) to massage the hair follicles and eliminate any accumulation of product and dead skin.

Double cleaning when washing

We know what you’re thinking, but this step not stands for the age-old saying of “rinse and repeat”. It’s basically a waste of product. Instead, use a hair or scalp rinse before your shampoo. This will help break up product buildup and remove excess sebum and hair oils every time you wash your hair.

“Just like how we cleanse our skin twice, we should always cleanse our scalp twice. The first wash takes care of any oil, pollution and leftover product, while the second actually cleans and nourishes our scalp” , explains Reavey. Kérastase Pre Cleanse for a deep double cleansing that does not dry out the hair.

Use a moisturizing hair mask

Who doesn’t love a good hair mask? What’s even better is how your hair feels after using one in the shower. Depending on how dry your hair is or if you want to protect delicate curls, use your best judgment when determining how often to use a hair mask. For the most part, once or twice a week should do the trick and avoid any unwanted dryness or frizz.

After shampooing, squeeze all excess water from your hair. This is essential as it prepares your hair to absorb as much moisture as possible from the hair mask. Then work the product from mid-length to tip and let it act for about 10 minutes.

“I love using our Revitalizing hair mask as a weekly deep moisturizing treatment, but it also works as an amazing conditioner substitute for those with particularly damaged and brittle hair,” says Reavey. You won’t need to follow up with conditioner. The hair mask will suffice as an intensive treatment. We also like the Kristen Ess Hydrating Reconstructing Mask if you’re looking for something a little lighter, it’s amazing for fine to normal hair types and won’t weigh strands down.

Try a hair serum

When you think about the purpose of serum for your face, it is the product with the most active ingredients to take a targeted approach to your skincare goals. The same goes for hair. You should choose a serum based on your greatest needs, whether it’s nutrition, regrowth, scalp soothing or shine.

Regardless of the added benefits of the serum, its use will lock in moisture and promote healthy hair growth. You can probably apply it all over your head and hair, especially if it’s a scalp serum meant to soothe irritated skin or promote regrowth after hair loss. We will always recommend Vegamour GRO Hair Serum, specifically for those who want longer and thicker hair, but for everyone. This serum does more for your hair than any other on the market.

Use hair oil

Dry ends are common in fall and winter. This comes from a lack of humidity in the air due to the cold. Excessive use of hot styling tools, hot showers, tight styles, and going out with your hair damp can also cause dry, brittle ends.

After washing, Reavey suggests using a light oil on the ends of the hair. We like it Ouai hair oil. “Not only will it make your hair shiny and nourished, but it will also lock in moisture from your cleanser and conditioner,” she says. What an easy way to update your hair care routine for fall.

It’s no secret that no one can beat Koreans when it comes to beauty regimes. Popular for their glass skin and shiny locks, beauty standards are very high in the world of K-beauty. If you’ve ever dreamed of long, frizz-free hair, it doesn’t have to be a dream anymore. With this 5-step Korean hair care guide, you can experience the beauty of healthy hair.

Exfoliate

Commonly known as “scalp scaling,” Koreans invest their time in exfoliating the scalp with the jet-scrub-rinse method. With a descaling gel tailored to your hair’s needs and a gentle massage, the process can take up to two hours, but it leaves your scalp feeling clean and promotes hair growth.

Purify

Rather than drugstore brands, consider investing in mild shampoos. Parabens and other harmful chemicals are banned, as are split shampoos and conditioners. The cleanser should not dry out your hair or upset the natural pH balance of your scalp. The idea is to gently cleanse.

Hydrate

Towel dry your hair before applying a nourishing and hydrating conditioner. It helps your hair absorb conditioner better and makes it less likely to get frizzy or tangled.

Hydrate

You can moisturize your hair in two ways: a hair mask to prevent breakage or invest in moisturizing caps. The idea is to seal in the moisture and condition your hair so it feels hydrated.

Protect

If you’ve ventured far enough into the world of Korean beauty tips, you must have come across skin serums and hair serums. It’s time to be introduced to the world of scalp serums, scalp toners and hair essence. While scalp toners help fight pollutants and dandruff, scalp serum takes care of your hair follicles and promotes hair growth. Hair essence does everything a hair serum does without leaving your strands greasy and weighed down. They may be good investments after all.

As always, keep your hair needs in mind and review the ingredients of any product you purchase.

Ayurveda regards hair loss as a symptom of various disturbances occurring in your body. Thus, when treating hair loss, it is necessary to take into account the imbalances of the Doshas (energy), as well as the Dhatus (tissues). Ayurvedic experts insist that Ayurveda aims to address the root cause of hair loss using Shamana (soothing therapy) and Shodhana (purifying therapies) as well as dietary and physical modifications. way of life.

In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Vani Ahuja, co-founder and director of NatureCode, suggested 5 easiest Ayurvedic hair care routines that everyone should know:

1. Ayurvedic therapies – The notion of purifying, renewing and balancing your body’s energy is the foundation of Ayurvedic science. Ayurvedic therapies like Panchakarma, which include deeply nourishing and purifying procedures like Nasya, Basti, Shirodhara, Shiro Abhyanga, and Shiro Lepa, can be done once a month in addition to your regular home hair care routine. These treatments balance your doshas, which cleans your blood and promote good hair growth, while calming and relaxing your mind and body.

2. Make diet oil – According to Ayurveda, your scalp is made up of many energizing places known as “Marmas”. Oiling your scalp and hair is a rejuvenating technique to get rid of any excess or serious doshas that have built up in your head due to marmas. The nourishing, root strengthening and conditioning qualities of Ayurvedic oils used in scalp and hair massages frequently promote the growth of healthy, strong and shiny hair in addition to rejuvenation. Ayurveda recommends oiling your hair two to three times a week. According to ancient Ayurvedic practices, you should oil your hair for at least 20 minutes before washing it. For best results, massage the heated oil into your scalp and hair at night. The next day, shampoo your hair. It’s fantastic for the hair, and

3. Always cut your hair – Split ends and damaged hair will make your hair ends thin and hard. You can avoid this by regularly cutting your hair to remove split ends. To ensure your split ends are eliminated, trim your hair every 8-12 weeks.

4. Use non-chemical products – It’s possible that the harsh chemicals in hair products can alter the pH of your scalp while stripping the protein layers from your hair and the natural oils from your scalp. Instead, consider using Ayurvedic products, which are silicone, sulfate and paraben free and contain natural herbal components and essential oils, to achieve risk-free holistic hair health.

5. Use hair butters and masks to condition your hair frequently – Shiro lepas, or Ayurvedic hair masks, are some of the best remedies for deeply nourishing and conditioning your scalp and hair. To keep your scalp and hair healthy while helping you overcome the underlying causes of hair loss, including stress and worry, Ayurveda recommends applying hair masks once per week or every two weeks. You can use egg white and aloe vera gel as solvents along with Ayurvedic herbal powders like amalaki, henna and fenugreek to create your nutrient rich hair masks. Apply the mask to your hair from roots to ends, then wait 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing with water.

Dr Manisha Mishra Goswami, Medical Advisor at Charak Pharma Pvt Ltd, said: “Hair and scalp health is easier with Ayurveda. Like a good skincare regimen, a good haircare regimen can help improve your hair growth, reduce hair loss, and improve shine, density, luster, and thickness. She added to the list of easy-to-follow Ayurvedic hair tips that include:

1. Healthy diet – Healthy hair is possible with a better diet. Having a regular, balanced meal rich in protein, minerals and healthy fats, as well as carbohydrates, contributes to better hair health. Amla, Til, Ghee, dates and raisins should be part of the daily diet for healthy hair. Stay away from excess sweet and salty foods as they cause inflammation leading to hair loss.

2. Good sleep – Sleep is the time of restoration and repair. Getting a good sleep for 7-8 hours helps promote hair growth.

3. Regular hair massage – Weekly scalp massages with oils like sesame, coconut or almond stimulate the scalp, reduce dandruff, nourish the hair roots and strengthen the hair shaft. You can also use clinically tested moha; 5 in 1 hair oil that improves hair growth and reduces hair loss. In fact, scalp massage also induces restful sleep and reduces stress, which promotes better hair growth.

4. Hair hygiene – Wash hair with mild shampoos and avoid using very hot water to clean hair and scalp. Cold or lukewarm water is recommended in Ayurveda. Condition your hair with a hair mask made with natural ingredients like Methi, Curd, Triphala and Hibiscus every week to make it silky and strong.

5. Protect your hair – Remember to always protect your hair when you go out. Umbrella, cap, dupatta are simple ways to protect your hair from sun damage. Avoid heat and chemical treatments on the hair as they can damage the hair cuticle.

Image source: FREEPIK Does cutting your hair really help it grow faster?

We all want long, healthy locks that we can flaunt, twist and turn and style them into trendy hairstyles and the best advice we get from everyone is to get a regular cut. People have always believed that if they trim their locks every few days, their hair will grow longer, wondering if that’s true, let’s find out the truth behind it!

The answer is no, a regular cut will not make your hair grow, it does not stimulate hair growth, because cutting your hair does not affect your hair follicles which actually affect your hair growth. So something that has nothing to do with your scalp, how is it going to grow your hair.

So why bother doing regular cutting sessions?

Although regular cuts won’t make your hair grow faster, they will make it look healthier, thicker and shinier because all dead hair will be cut off. Cutting hair regularly also encourages it to grow in the right direction and maintains hair texture and length. Those who are prone to split ends should opt for regular trims because split ends weaken the hair, so they break easily and hamper your hair growth.

Moreover, cutting these dead ends will show off your haircut, the right length of hair and make them look emptier. Don’t worry about cutting 1cm, your hair grows 1-1.5cm each month on average anyway, so you’ll still have long locks a month after your cut. If you don’t want your hairdresser to alter the length of your hair a bit, tell them to “dusting your hair”, this only removes split ends, dead and damaged hair and does not affect the length of your hair in any way. your hair.

So if cutting won’t make your hair grow faster, what will?

Nothing beats a good oil head massage. When we massage our hair, we are actually working on something that promotes hair growth, which is the follicles. During the massage, the blood circulation increases, which supplies the right nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, which leads to hair growth. If you’re wondering what oils can make your massage healthy, consider coconut oil, castor oil mixed with any carrier oil, or almond oil. A massage every week can keep your dead hair at bay.

There’s no point in having long hair if it looks limp, dry and dull. In order for the hair to look long, it is extremely important that it is thick and strong. For this, you need to eat a balanced diet that includes loads of protein, omega 3s, and zinc. You can’t have long, healthy hair if you don’t eat well, so add plenty of green leafy vegetables, fruits, and yes, plenty of water to your diet.

An age-old ingredient known to grow your hair is amla. You can either eat it, which is beneficial for hair and skin, or apply it as a paste. In a bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of amla powder and 2 teaspoons of shikakai powder and a little water to make a smooth paste. Don’t let it get watery. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair and wait for around 45 minutes. After that, shampoo your hair in normal water. You can follow this routine once a week.

The take-out sale

Sorry to bust the myth, but regular trims won’t make your hair grow longer, but that doesn’t mean you let it grow out on its own. You need to get rid of your dead hair, split ends to bring your hair back to life. Good scalp care will stimulate hair growth. So while you’re taking care of your locks, remember that it’s the scalp that needs equal nourishment and care too.

Neo Naturals Consumer Products (Naturals) launched its new brand of beauty care products “Pearl” on Friday evening during a grand event at the Six Seasons Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka.

The company launched 18 new organic, chemical-free, 100% natural beauty, skin and hair care products under the Pearl brand.

All Pearl branded products will be available at reputable malls, super stores and popular e-commerce sites across the country.

Naturals Chairman, also the country’s leading writer and happiness coach, Md Elias Kanchon delivered the keynote address at the event.

In his keynote, he said, “Since Naturals’ journey into the domestic market in October 2020, the company has been delivering new organic products for beauty-conscious consumers. In the sequel, we have now released a basket of new organic products under the Pearl brand. Products of our brand will not only take care of a woman’s beauty, but also develop her inner beauty.

Famous model and actress Tanjin Tisha made a special appearance at the Pearl brand launch event.

Addressing the event, Tanjin Tisha said, “We people, working in the fashion and media industry, need to be aware of our glamor and makeup. There is always a risk of enormous damage to our skin if we use beauty products based on chemical mixtures. That’s why we always try to use organic products. It is a great pleasure that the local company Naturals has released a number of organic beauty care products. I will definitely try these natural products under the Pearl brand.

Asif Ahnaf, Director of Electronic Commerce Association of Bangladesh (ECAB) said, “The country’s beauty care market is now dominated by mixed chemicals from Korea. Under these circumstances, we badly needed an organic beauty care brand from Bangladesh. The Naturals offered its organic beauty care products, and we should use them avoiding those that mix chemicals.

Tanzila Akter, Director of Neo Naturals Consumer Products (Naturals), said, “Pearl, the pure organic beauty brand, will strive to prevent aging from an early age. The products of this brand will not only enhance the outer beauty of a woman, but also her inner beauty.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was our introduction to the West and the world of fashion. We may have seen some of Hollywood’s blockbuster movies, but the gap between the two industries narrowed as Ash got into Hollywood projects and made the country proud.

From donning the coveted Miss World crown to strutting the runway at the Cannes International Film Festival, Aishwarya has always been the epitome of grace, elegance and beauty. In an effort to want to look like her all the time, fans constantly asked her about home remedies for skin and hair.

While Aishwarya is one of the most beautiful women in the world, the actress, like all of us, indulges in some home remedies and tricks for her hair and skin. (But does she really need it?)

While everyone knows Ash’s love of aromatherapy, the actress claims to make a hair mask with easily accessible ingredients that are worth trying.

Ingredients:

– Coconut oil

– Olive oil

– Eggs

– Amla powder

Mix all the ingredients until you get a fine paste. Part your hair and apply the paste to your scalp and give yourself a good massage. If you want extra hydration, you can wrap your head in a warm towel. Aishwarya is also a strong proponent of a hot oil massage once a week.

Aishwarya will finally be seen on the big screen again with Ponniyein Selvan I which is directed by Mani Ratnam.
