ASKED about her trademark makeup look — tanned skin, heavily lined eyes and a pale pink lip — Claudia Winkleman is typically self-deprecating.

“The girl who makes my face [make-up artist Debbie Dannell]because of the way I like it, really doesn’t have much work because of me,” the Strictly host tells me, in a Zoom call from his London home.

“Because they’re asking, ‘Who are you doing?’, and she’s like, ‘Claudia,’ and they’re like, ‘The one that’s bright orange with black and white…?'”

Still, the busy mum – Winkleman and her husband Kris Thykier have three children: Jake (19), Matilda (15) and Arthur (10) – isn’t about to change her signature style anytime soon and has a huge respect for the pros who work their magic before it hits the camera.

“I suck at doing my own makeup because I’m impatient and myopic,” says Winkleman, who turned 50 in January. “But when does a makeup artist highlight that? Looks like you may have just taken a long walk – you know what I mean? It’s right there, the little rosy cheek… I love having my face done.

And when it comes to shopping for cosmetics herself, the TV and radio host and Head and Shoulders Ambassador knows exactly what she likes.

Here, Winkleman reviews her favorite hairstyles, makeup, and scents…

Lip balm

Dotcom Glossier Coconut Balm, £10

“I love any lip balm. Love it – which one did I just use? Shinier. Amazing. It’s coconut. I just put it on and I got said, “Oh, it’s like I’m on vacation.

Lipstick

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Bosom Friend, £18.50

“I love MAC. Fleshpot lipstick is the only thing I’ll use,” Winkleman said when we spoke, but the shade was dropped soon after. However, Bosom Friend is a similar pale pink shade .

Eye shadow

Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick Luxury Palette, £40

“Charlotte Tilbury is a fucking genius. She’s a genius. I love her Rock Chick eye palette.

Eyeliner

Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil, £2.99, Boots

“I love Rimel. They have a black kohl, it’s damn good.

Mascara

Guerlain Maxi Lash Extra Volume Lash Noir, £28, John Lewis

“Sali Hughes, who’s a genius beauty writer, I said to her, ‘What’s the best mascara in the world?’ She said Guerlain Maxi Lash. You’ve never tried anything like this in your life! It’s your money’s worth. Amazing.”

Shampoo

Head & Shoulders Deep Cleanse Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for Itch Prevention, £6, Boots

“Head and Shoulders is the only thing I’ll ever use on my head. Even when they fire me, it’s fine, I don’t mind, I totally get it, they can find someone new, but I will never use a different shampoo. I love their Deep Cleanse line. Oh my god, there’s one that smells like mint – it’s like getting a head hug.

Perfume

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum, from £57, Escentual

“The only perfume I wear is Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium. I would say maybe it’s because I’m 50, I’m quite old, but I’m faithful. You know when you find your thing? I just stick to that.
